CBS Reporter Immediately Regrets Attempts To Embrarrass Ivanka Trump

Believe it or not, Ivanka Trump was once considered pretty liberal. Before her father began running for president, she’d donated to primarily Democratic candidates. She used to espouse support for LGBTQ issues, planned parenthood and climate change reform.

You’d never know it, though, by the way she’s silently stood behind her father as he worked against all the progress liberals have made in recent years with these issues, and for standing up for her father despite multiple allegations of wrongdoing and lawbreaking.

Ivanka has been accused of being complicit, and she’s come out to admit for the record that she is. But it makes you wonder if she truly understands what the word means.

“If being complicit is wanting to, is wanting to be a force for good and to make a positive impact then I’m complicit,” Ivanka said to CBS News in an interview. “I don’t know that the critics who may say that of me, if they found themselves in this very unique and unprecedented situation that I am now in, would do any differently than I am doing…. So I hope to make a positive impact. I don’t know what it means to be complicit, but you know, I hope time will prove that I have done a good job and much more importantly that my father’s administration is the success that I know it will be.”

The problem is, complicit does not mean ‘wanting to be a force for good’ or making ‘a positive impact’. In fact, that’s the exact opposite of what the word means. defines the word ‘complicit’ as meaning, “Involved with others in an illegal activity or wrongdoing.”

Either Ivanka has never bothered to look up the word and she’s clueless, or she admits that she’s helping her dad and his administration in shady dealings. Either way, it’s a frightening statement for her to make.

It was a bit of a surprise when, after Donald Trump was elected, it was announced that Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, were going to be accompanying him to Washington D.C. and working in his administration. Kushner, a former newspaper publisher and real-estate developer, at least has a formal position in the Trump administration as a senior advisor to President Donald Trump. Ivanka serves as an advisor in an unofficial capacity, and with a background in the fashion business, many wonder what exactly qualifies her to be in the West Wing.

Ivanka continues to defend her role, and her father’s win, however. “So, you know a lot of people would say the same about how could somebody successfully win the presidency who had never been engaged in politics and my father did that and Jared was instrumental in helping his campaign succeed,” Ivanka said. “So, you know Jared is incredibly smart, very talented, has enormous capacity. He is humble in the recognition of what he doesn’t know. And is tremendously secure in his ability to seek informed viewpoints. He has an amazing team that my father has built at the White House, and that he’s built that’s helping work on each of these initiatives. So you know the myth that he is operating in a silo is just that.”
